Kent Ames began his construction career in the mid 1990s on the Big Island, working in luxury resort communities and high end residential properties for discerning homeowners. From the beginning, Kent worked hands on in foundation, framing, and finish work, gaining the kind of practical building knowledge that only comes from years on the jobsite.
In 2005, Kent earned his General Contractor’s License and founded Hāmākua Coast Construction. After moving back to Oʻahu in 2009 to create more opportunity for his family, he later launched Point Line Construction in 2015, focusing on luxury residential construction, custom homes, remodels, and architect driven projects.
Kent’s work on Oʻahu has included exceptional private residences, premier architect collaborations, and high level construction support as both a general contractor and subcontractor. His reputation is built on craftsmanship, communication, trusted relationships, and a deep understanding of how homes in Hawaiʻi are built to last.
